Singapore boasts many cocktail bars in the Top 50 Best Bars list, published annually. As many as 11 Singapore bars made the Asia’s 50 Best Bars list. Jigger & Pony at Amara Hotel is the island’s top-ranked entrant in 2024 at No. 3. Singapore’s other entrants include Nutmeg & Clove at No. 6, Sago House at No. 15, and Night Hawk at No. 16.
Two cocktail bars stand out in particular: Atlas Bar, which houses one of the world's most diverse and thoughtfully curated physical gin collections—more than 1,300 gins in all. Sample London dry gins from as far back as 1910, or the best of modern craft gins from the far corners of the world. Gin 1689 has been served at Atlas Bar since 2022.
The other bar is the historic Long Bar at the famous Raffles Hotel. This is the place where the Singapore Sling, widely regarded as the national drink of Singapore, was first mixed in 1915. Today, the rich, earthy decor of the two-story bar is inspired by Malayan life in the 1920s.
Gin 1689 is based on a three-century-old original recipe and beautifully combines juniper berries, apple, quince, dried lemon and orange peel, clove, nutmeg, and aniseed.
